Michael's wife here: I bought this strap because I was tired of carrying the iPhone 6 in one hand and the keys in the other. Depending on what I wear, sometimes I just don't have enough pockets. I saw the original many years ago but thought it was just another useless "gadget". The original does not have a front zip. This new one does. Even though it was $10 more (I may be wrong about the exact dollar amount), the zipper gave me a sense of security. I slip my ID, debit card, and cash into the front zipper. In the other compartments I have my car keys (a key fob key fob, another car alarm remote, 5 office and house keys), my dog's poop bags, my iPhone 6 in a slim case. At first I was skeptical that the strap would really keep my stuff in place. I pat myself every 2 minutes lol. Everything was right where I had it. As soon as I put the belt on, I forget it's there. If your top is loose enough, your belt won't even be visible. This belt was actually an exchange for the right size. I am big. But I read in some reviews that I should order one size down so it fits snugly. So I ordered on Wednesday. I could hardly put it on. Good luck trying to fit something in the cracks. Maybe you can glue a piece of paper. So I traded in for a big one. Shipping cost me $5 but I really wanted this belt so I put up with it. I would recommend this item. I already recommended this belt on my FB page. There are several friends sold for this product.
