I was really looking forward to having an electric fence/training collar in one device. Unfortunately, this (maybe just the one I received) system didn't work for us. Customer support was EXCELLENT. They listened to my problem and sent me a new collar to see if that could be the problem. With that said. The only way the collar could receive a signal from the wire was ONLY when the collar was on the dog's neck and pointing straight down. If the collar had rotated even slightly on the neck, it would not have picked up the signal and the dog could have walked right through the wire. Also, the collar will not receive a signal when the dog's head is up, ie the collar is pointing up or straight ahead and over the wire. This is my first experience with an electric fence and I hope it is not compatible with other brands.
