I got this for a project I was working on where I needed to send a signal to two sources simultaneously. For users looking for a device that allows them to choose which device to send a signal to to continue their search, this is a signal splitter, not a switch. It simultaneously sends a signal to all connected HDMI devices. This is a great device. It will be disabled if you have disabled all sources and only used ports are enabled. It's about the size of a deck of cards, maybe a little thinner. When placing, remember that all ports are on the same side. at least on the 2-port UHD 4K model, that I bought, so get cables long enough to accommodate the twists and turns you'll have to make to get it to the other end. Overall I don't see any signal degradation. . No issues with game lag or audio lag, some of the very bad ones I bought didn't cause any. My only reason for star docking is that despite the description that it is supported, CEC no longer works. I get all the screen images from my receiver, but I don't have to activate each component individually. I got around this by programming my remote with a macro to do this instead. My TV is LG 47LV5400 and the receiver is Onkyo HT-S3700 if anyone knows any solutions. I have tried, Disabling everything and starting over to see if CEC would work, but every time I tried to run it I got a "device not found" message. Without them, CEC works fine. Now my HT installation works as before. I'll update the review if I find a solution, but overall if CEC isn't that important to you, this is a great buy. Eventually, to get this to work, I had to return it. The problem was that my TV was flickering and the source was PS3. From what I've read, this could be due to cheap user cables (I have quality cables, not monsters, but definitely not cheap nameless ones) or that the receiver/splitter might not be able to handle the data rate. So that others can understand my settings, my HDMI devices are connected to an Onkyo HT-R393 receiver. From there I connected an HDMI cable to the splitter's HDMI output port. I've tried all sorts of fixes to get the PS3 working: Disabled Deep Color on the receiver, disabled all surround sound on the PS3 except 2.0 in the PS3 audio options, connected the PS3 optical cable to the receiver, everything on no use. The TV screen started flickering when the source was PS3. This did not occur on other devices, including the Xbox. When the PS3 was plugged directly into the splitter or into the receiver, the screen was fine. I got another splitter from a different brand and manufacturer and the problem was solved: The screen no longer flickers. The TV screen started flickering when the source was PS3.
