I had to read the January 18, 2018 review that explained why the BIG Donner is not working. I have a regular doner kebab. I can use it but thought a big thunder would be more convenient. I was expecting it to be made like a regular one, just in a larger size. Unfortunately, when I got the BIG Donner and put it next to the normal one, it was easy to see why no one could get it to work. 1/2" at the point 5" from the top. Thus, the "legs" are parallel to each other from top to bottom. Once you've slipped the stocking over the hole, it's easy to slide it down the "legs" of the putter and position the entire stocking in the correct donning position. The "legs" of the LARGE applicator guide are not positioned in this way. They measure 6 inches at the top but 7 1/2 inches at the point that is 6 inches below the top. Instead of having parallel legs on the LARGE Donner, they flare out wide at the bottom. So while you can stretch the stocking 6 inches over the top with little effort, when you slide the stocking down and try to get it into position, the flare is so severe that the stocking just slides up as soon as you remove your hands try to keep putting the stocking on the wearer. It won't stay in place because the flare is too powerful. This is a design flaw. I had to pay for return shipping. While the item isn't very heavy, it requires a large box so the return shipping will likely eat away at any refund I was expecting for my purchase price. can be used as intended. Here are pictures showing both carriers side by side so you can see what the flare problem is. I used some fabric to block out parts of the thunder so the image highlights the problem area. I hope this helps you see how the device is designed to NOT work properly. DON'T BUY BIG THUNDER.
