My husband loves to save fat from the bacon to use when we vacuum pack meat. From time to time I use fat to sauté vegetables. My only criticism is that this thing is just plain ugly. I keep it in my desk drawer so I don't have to look at it. Otherwise it does what it is supposed to do and filters out fat very well. The filters are very easy to keep clean by running them under hot water. I also like the little metal saucer that comes with it to protect the bottom of my drawer.
