Installation is easy. All you need is a free PCI slot on your motherboard and an optional available SATA cable (and port) to connect it to an adapter for more performance when you need it. I have an available SATA port, but I tested the card without a SATA port and everything works fine for me, so I didn't connect it. I have an external USB3 SSD and can now access it just as fast as the internal SSD. I also use a USB3 WiFi dongle that supports 802.11ac and now download speeds are up to around 250Mbps on my ATT Fiber 300 service. I couldn't be happier! I would recommend this adapter to anyone who doesn't have USB3 support in their computer but would like to have it. The USB3 to USB2 connection speed is an order of magnitude faster!
