Pentium 4 4GHz good for everyday texting and web browsing

Bought this card hoping to expand the use of my outdated but reliable old Dell Inspiron 4600, which has faithfully served our family since 2003 of the year. This is a 32-bit system that has a feature that prevents you from upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10. With a few inexpensive updates, the 3.4GHz Pentium 4 is good for word processing and web surfing. I was hoping that this PCI card would speed up data transfer from my advanced USB wireless LAN adapter and external hard drive. The card…

This adapter works very well!

Installation is easy. All you need is a free PCI slot on your motherboard and an optional available SATA cable (and port) to connect it to an adapter for more performance when you need it. I have an available SATA port, but I tested the card without a SATA port and everything works fine for me, so I didn't connect it. I have an external USB3 SSD and can now access it just as fast as the internal SSD. I also use a USB3 WiFi dongle that supports 802.11ac and now download speeds are up to around…

Breathed life into my aging Dell Precision T1500

I was looking for a way to add USB 3.0 to my T1500 as all the USB ports were 2.0. I tried the PCI Express version but my Nvidia graphics card was blocking the slot on the motherboard. I've also tried using an extension ribbon cable to no avail. I came across this card while searching for "USB PCI 3.0" and was glad to have such a module available. The physical installation took a few minutes and Windows 10 started successfully. Driver installed automatically. I confirmed it was installed through

  • Piggy bank price

Bought March 2016 and already dead (disappointing $60 card). I contacted the manufacturer's tech support and found out they have a lifetime warranty so now in the process. Will be updated once the process is complete. Update - 7/20: StarTech sent me an RMA to replace this the same day I called. I filled it out and mailed it back to her. They then emailed me back the same day and said they had sent a replacement and I didn't have to return the defective item. I wish all companies backed up their

Hello, this is a StarTech.com review 4 Port PCI SuperSpeed USB 3.0 (PCI not PCI Express) I expected more This product was ordered for my Intel DH61WW motherboard in the hope that I could add USB3 support and achieve transfer speeds of around 100Mbps with my Seagate USB3.0 external hard drives (I use many external hard drives and transfer large files over 40GB from one hard drive to another), so I expected my work to be much faster than the USB 2.0 transfer speeds (16Mbps to 20Mbps) that I…
