I bought these for a broad toe. I bought them a size up hoping I could use custom made orthotics in them. It didn't work (custom insoles are too thick) but I wear them anyway. So comfortable! I look a bit clownish from wearing shoes that appear to be made for a tall person but are too short for my feet to hurt. This is the first pair of athletic shoes, including the NB, that actually have a very wide toe box and are comfortable all around. I liked it so much that I bought a men's version in different colors for my two sons. Now they wear nothing else. Great for flat feet with orthotics (custom or custom made in your case, not an inch thick), great for plantar fasciitis, great for bursitis. Anything that requires a wide toe box and a thick, soft yet supportive sole. I've just talked myself into buying another pair in a different color. But not red, it might scream "Crazy Cheeseburger Clown".
