
description says it's good to 0.001 inch. Based on my experience I'd say it's pretty close, maybe a little less. With a measuring tool, that small 0.001 inch accuracy depends on how hard you push different parts more than the actual device. I bought it primarily for tool height measurement to set up an offset table for my CNC machine and it seems to work for most of the time. One feature I'd like to have is a way to slowly increase or decrease. Sometimes you want to do it the other way around: you want to put a dash on a gauge and then use it to draw a line or something. Difficult to get the moving part exactly where you want it. Some kind of "step-by-step" customization or something like that would be nice to have.
