Lightbulbs stay cool

This lamp is exactly what I wanted. I don't understand why so many fixtures sold these days are sealed, as both LED and fluorescent bulbs tend to overheat and burn out in sealed fixtures. Because this fixture offers excellent airflow, I plan to use the 100 watt equivalent LED or CFL bulb in rooms that need more light. The light can handle 60W incandescent bulbs, so any LED or CFL bulb should work just fine. Larger lamps are ideal for this lamp. The dome is actually larger than it appears in some photos. I've attached a picture of a lamp using a 100w equivalent LED bulb and a CFL bulb. The LED lamp is A21 size. The much smaller bulb on the floor is a standard 60W LED bulb and even that bulb is marked A19 on the packaging. The installation turned out to be more complicated than expected. In my outlets, the screws that attach the mounting plate to the outlet interfere with the mounting screws that go through the canopy. The mounting plate needs to be wider to allow more spacing between the screw holes. I solved this problem by joining 2 fastening strips together in an "X" shape. To do this, you cut off a small piece of threaded hose and used it to screw the 2 mounting plates together through the center hole. I connected several other old mounting plates by drilling holes in them and using short mounting screws. If you attempt this, be sure to leave the hole in the center of the mounting strips open as the wires will need to go through the hole. Another solution that might work is to cut the heads off the mounting screws.
