Not sure if mine is defective, not easy to suck

I was so excited to give it to my daughter, she is eight months old and hate to use it. She had trouble to drink from it, so i tried it, and it's really hard to suck any liquid from it, you have to bite on the straw to suck, because of the leak proof design. I am so disappointed.

The strap may be too short for larger strollers or bags
