My dog actually hated it. Now he doesn't really like his paws touched anyway but I have a larger trimmer I use on feet and he actually puts up a little less fuss with them. I think these are so small that it may actually be tickling him but he keeps jerking his paws away. I will continue to work with him on it. My one complaint is that due to its small size, it takes longer to get into the paw pads because you have to do it a little slower but it does work. Overall it works OK and I safer than scissors but it might take a little longer due to its small cutting surface.
