It works! This docking station is great for a reason I didn't even buy it.

I just traded in my work laptop for a Dell Latitude 5400 and the included Dell D6000 docking station failed to drive my pair of Acer Z321QU 2560 x 1440 monitors. I bought this for my home office as my workstation (which I haven't touched since March) has lower resolution monitors at work and the D6000 won't be a problem at work. I bought a Kensington SD4750P docking station and had the same problems. I've found that my Displayport to HDMI adapters are causing the issue. Luckily, the Kensington Dock has two Displayport adapters and two HDMI adapters. There is only one HDMI port on the D6000. When I connected the monitors directly to HDMI without an adapter, they work at 2560x1440 at 60Hz with no problems. I run my personal desktop on Displayport and it downshifts the display to 60Hz with HDMI, so HDMI for docking is a must for me. Pros: It works as a docking station for my work and personal laptop. It has two HDMI adapters. that I didn't know what I needed. I really need her! Cons: I can't turn on the laptop without opening it. The numlock setting is lost when I turn the laptop on and off again. No documentation included. It's not clear that the 85W USB3C port is on the back. There's a front USB3C that seems like the logical place for it. Thoughts: I give this dock 5 stars because it has 2 HDMI adapters that I didn't realize I needed. Having two saved me from a problem I didn't understand. Otherwise it works. I still miss my traditional dock, but I see them going away soon. JW
