USB-C docking station with dual 4K display for Dell, HP, Lenovo, ASUS, MSI and other pc’s, Surface Pro, Surface Book, Surface Laptop, Chromebooks, and MacBooks (mac OS 10.14 and later); works with USB-C, USB-A, and Thunderbolt 3 laptops (at USB-C speeds) including dual display for MacBooks with the M1 chipset. Not good for 2020 Macbook Pro 16 inch

So I tested different Thunderbolt/USB C docks to see what would actually work with my Macbook Pro 16 inch which is a new 2020 model. While this dock isn't technically Thunderbolt compatible, after connecting my ethernet and two 27-inch LG IPS monitors, the display doesn't even work. empty, nothing. They seem to know they are connected, the Macbook never sees them. .But the NIC/Ethernet, my USB-A wireless keyboard/mouse all work fine just no video as advertised. Don't worry like 90% of docks…

Super easy laptop accessory installation

This docking station was easy to set up and get started. This version was used to replace my Kensington SD5200T which I have used with my 2016 MacBook Pro for several years. I recently bought an Apple MacBook Pro with an M1 chip and the SD5200T does not work with this chip. So I did some digging and found this. I stayed with the Kensington brand mainly because I was familiar with their products and had a lot of success. Connecting this dock was easy as it just replaced my old one on my desk…

Finally! Working docking station.

This is my third attempt to use the docking station. The first was the Hiearcool USB-C Hub, USB-C Laptop Dock, 11-in-1 Triple Display Type-C Adapter, which worked very well but had a very short USB-C cable , so that it was attached to my laptop. It also tended to overheat if I plugged in too many ports, particularly Ethernet with 2 HDMIs. It works! This docking station is great for a reason I didn't even buy it.

I just traded in my work laptop for a Dell Latitude 5400 and the included Dell D6000 docking station failed to drive my pair of Acer Z321QU 2560 x 1440 monitors. I bought this for my home office as my workstation (which I haven't touched since March) has lower resolution monitors at work and the D6000 won't be a problem at work.
