It's a tire!
It works and it's reliable! The locking mechanism is also easy to use and won't come loose when working on projects. This is a good standard size hoop for most cross stitch projects. Since this is the only 10" frame I have, I don't use it for framing, only for projects. I'm sure you could use it as a frame, but I think there are probably better frame-specific wood-faced tires out there.
