Review on Synthetic engine oil IDEMITSU Zepro Touring 5W-30, 4 l by Mateusz Kazana ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A reliable product for all occasions, the quality is at the level.

Why do we sell the expensive Zepro and Idemitsu line in plastic from Singapore, Thailand and even products from the American market in 2022, and most importantly, why is it worse. And here is the most interesting. The ZEPRO line of four and liter canisters is a line from Japan. But ironically, in Japan, you will not find four and a liter canisters of Idemitsu Zepro during the day with fire. According to some rumors, all four-liter canisters, incl. and in metal for several years now they have been shipped from Vietnam and not from Japan. The metal containers produced by Nagao Seikan for Idemitsu in Japan are shipped in large quantities to Vietnam, where the product is bottled to be sent to 2022. I cannot now answer exactly how true this information is, but still I personally think that the Zepro line is still mostly bottled and comes to 2022 from Japan. Why do Idemitsu produce products in other countries? Why do corporations invest billions in factories - and in their own factories built from scratch in many Asian countries. Many of you will say - this is quite obvious - in this way logistics costs are reduced and the oil becomes cheaper and closer to the buyer. Yes it is. But what follows from this. The fundamental meaning of these factories is as follows: To supply Idemitsu products to those countries for which real Japanese quality is too expensive, but there is a need for a well-known and promoted brand. If a product from Japan is expensive for the local market, then a factory is built on cheap land and with cheap labor and inexpensive basic raw materials (Vietnam, Thailand) and at the end you get a product that will meet the needs of the local market at a price. After all, Idemitsu does not import products from Vietnam or Thailand back to Japan. People incl. and in 2022, for some reason, they don’t delve into the inscription “made in Thailand” or “Made in Vietnam” and don’t think that if it were real, like in Japan and the same quality, then there would be no point in the existence of these Vietnamese factories.

Pros
  • A good hydrocracking product if made in Japan (possibly made in Vietnam).
Cons
  • Too little resource - no more than 6000 tons. Km.
