Review on π§ Lake Industries Alkaline Water Pitcher Filter by Carl Givens
Use MAVEA filters instead of coffee drinks.
I am returning this product because it has thrown my water's PH balance to the alkaline/alkaline side of the PH spectrum that my coffee tastes horrible. I used to use the MAVEA filter which worked really well but I heard MAVEA was going out of business so I switched to it. To test this filter, I left all my other variables unchanged and simply disabled the water filter. I live in Seattle and use George Howell coffee, tap water and an OTTO Chemex coffeemaker. Result: Coffee with a faint, sugary taste. A bit like bad coffee at a diner, where a cigarette floats around for a while before being fished out and served to an unhappy customer. I do not recommend Lake Industries as a filter for brewing specialty coffee. Special coffee: Mavea 1001122 Maxtra replacement filter for Mavea water filter jug - pack of 3
