good size cage for the money. Sturdy enough and I like the pull of the sliding doors. Prevents my bird from opening them on its own, which it likes to do. Perfect size for small birds - I have a kennel so there is plenty of room for him. The top does not open, but there is a model that does. Had trouble finding a lid that fits the dimensions of this cage so it would be nice if they made a lid to match. I don't use a floor stand because of my Siberian Husky, but it feels solid and adds a few feet of height. Overall very happy with the cage. Assembly is a bit fiddly to put the second layer on, but very easy to do with two pairs of hands.
