I bought this unit right after it was released. The price was really attractive combined with the functionality that included monitoring and data collection not only for running and cycling but also for swimming. I was also looking for a Bluetooth heart rate monitor and this one fitted too. All in all, I'm very happy to have this device, it satisfied almost all my needs and I would recommend it to my friends. That doesn't mean there weren't growing pains. The battery life is good, but not outstanding. It's built in rechargeable and that's a big plus. After a while my device started interfering and my battery started dying very quickly. I thought it was a defect in the device but it turned out to be a software bug and after several reboots and firmware reinstalls the watch worked fine. Technical support from TomTom has been very good and supportive and they have been constantly improving the product with firmware updates that have improved its core functionality and added new features. My only issue that I wish they would fix was before a workout at the gym. I'd like to have heart rate, calorie, etc. monitoring - without GPS. It might just be me, but without a GPS connection, the watch can't track your workouts inside. The exception is running on a treadmill, which has its own set of features. There's always room for improvement, but I think the TomTom has a winning combination of form, function and price. If you're more into a single sport it's probably best to look for more advanced models from someone like Garmin, but if you're looking for a very good all-round multisport monitor this is a solid choice.
