It works if you take your time

I read the 5 star reviews first. I thought these people did the right thing. I got a few tips. Since the crack I had was a stress point, I used Gorilla Glue to stick to the bottom of the crack. Then I used Coconix for finishing. Here are some tips: * Use 90% alcohol. If using a lower percentage, add water before mixing the colors. That's probably what happened to the few who said it never dried up. *It felt a little sticky for a few days but was fully cured. *Use a toothpick to stir the color used, dripping a little of the color mixture at a time. *Use a mixing bowl so you don't use too much base color if you need to mix color. The screw-on top cap maintains moisture between uses.* Make multiple uses, starting at the edges, until you get a fairly even surface. Then, when dry, use 90% alcohol to smooth it down. * Plan this for the weekend, you need drying time between uses. I let the fan blow to fix between uses. My repair was actually on vinyl. The leather seats were covered in vinyl underneath, and that was the one that tore at the seam. The warranty expired a little over 3 years ago. I only used white and some black but the price of the Coconix kit made it worth it to save the seat from further damage. Much cheaper than reupholstering the seat and a better solution than adding a cheap seat cover. The repair took over a month and seems to be holding up strong.
