I have repaired brakes on production cars so my golf cart design is no different. This is a tighter space, however, so using a flathead screwdriver and needle-nosed pliers to tension the spring requires some arm muscle. My vehicle's brake tool did not go past the skid plate (flange for dust and debris) and axle bracket. Some new golf carts are equipped with hydraulic brakes that use traditional drum brake cylinders or disc brake calipers. Most on the market are just rear brake drums with standard pulleys, no cylinders. Check your setup
