Review on 🐠 Tetra No More Algae Tablets 8 Count: Effective Algae Control for Aquariums by Roberta Berg

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Worked for our aquarium!

We have a well established 3.5 year old 10 gallon fresh water tank. We didn't have an algae problem until we went on vacation and I started using these food tablets. So even though I've cleaned the tank thoroughly every few months, the brownish-orange algae keep coming back. I didn't want to use chemicals that could harm the fish, but I was desperate - who wants to look at a dirty aquarium (note that the water was clear, these algae formed on the walls of the aquarium and on the bottom). Anyway, I have 4 neon tetras, a snail, a platy, 2 core catfish. I didn't want them to die, so I took the following precautions: removed snails and kept them in a separate beaker during the cleaning process, performed a 25% water change and removed the carbon filter, thoroughly cleaned the pool walls with a wiped rag, which I did could, filled the cup of water from the tank, added a tablet, mixed and added to the tank. I ran it for almost 12 hours (just wanted to make sure it actually worked), added a new charcoal filter, left the cycle overnight, then added my auger back in. I monitored the fish for signs that they were not tolerant to the chemicals. They all looked great in everything. When I finished there was no algae in the tank and it seems to be getting better every day. It's a miracle and I plan on doing it about every 2 months to keep it going, or maybe as needed when I see it coming back. None of my fish were harmed and my aquarium looks great - 5 stars for that! You must follow the instructions carefully to make it work and protect your fish/snails.
