I used this phone extension for my mother's new phone for the hearing impaired where the phone was my mother had to get out of her chair and walk across the room to speak and read the labels on it. She uses a walker so it was very difficult for her to walk back and forth to use her phone. I plugged it into an existing phone line and used an extension cord to connect it to the phone which is now by her chair, it works great and she likes it where it is now.
