Ok, call! Anyone looking for an outdoor CCTV system, DO NOT USE Nighthawk cameras! So I bought an 8 camera system there for just under 600.00 and installed an outdoor kit indoors for a friend who is having trouble getting hired help. This worked great for my girlfriend, within a day of installing it (outdoors) my girlfriend caught her digging through drawers and stealing things. Now I've had them recommended by other friends (indoors too) and have had great results. Now my case. I bought a wireless set (yes it was stupid because I still have to connect the power) and immediately ran into a problem. Mounts allow you to mount the camera just straight off the mount or at a 90 degree angle to the left! WTF! The next problem with signal consistency is FUBAR! The camera is right next to the DVR, so outside the window! There is a pole. The farthest has a full bar (note that it's on the other side of the kitchen with lots of radio interference and a garage) and all the others are somewhere in between. But all cameras have an internal SD card and record everything and just upload it to the DVR when they can. So I installed these cameras because my neighbor (who was practically kicked out of the house by the HOA) is threatening to kill my dog! Shortly after the installation, I encountered a huge problem. I can't select an NTP server and they are not updated from the hardcoded server. I can't change the time manually either! So all my cameras now have different times/dates. The next problem is that even on the DVR (probably due to the signal strength) the channels are 1-5 minutes behind! So I see myself opening the door after opening it (another reason I needed cameras) and sitting back down at my desk. But there are no kickers anywhere! So...... I'm coming home formwork. Release the dog, repeat "I'm home" and "turn around." When my neighbor (non-threatening dog) knocks on the door. I answer and he tells me that someone tore up our gates (they connected) and our dogs flew away. As I help him find our dogs (they were hanging around the block), I tell him I installed new cameras just last week. We watch and I find out that it only records when there is movement (and I don't know how to change that). That shouldn't be a problem now as someone came by and ripped the goal off the post and threw it back about two feet. I go and watch and the feed is missing a whole day and of course the end of one day shows both goals there and then more than 24 hours later (nothing recorded because there is no movement which is bs because my neighbors son is using there a goal , who can see the camera to stow his bike) the gate clears a post in the yard and our dogs run free and enjoy playing together. make sure everything is ok. Well one night biting my ass for looking at the cameras and everything looks fine (on my phone because the DVR is useless and the computer application needs admin rights to view your cameras and IDS/IPS and malware- running detection). After about 15 minutes I noticed that she didn't ask to come back. I look at the app and notice the trees aren't moving, so I head outside. Goals PASSED! LOOKS LIKE A TRUCK YOU DRIVE! MY DOG IS GONE AND IT'S 9 PM NOW! After finding my dog an hour later and a few blocks away. I came to look at my camera because, damn it. Use your mouse (there's no keyboard and it's not expected) and type in the DVR's horrible GUI (because the phone doesn't work). And again the whole day was over and this time there was nothing to see including the dog and I running around the neighborhood! I've tried to contact them by phone to no avail (can't find any email or form belonging to them). And I had it!
