Proud new owner of a Canon Pixma Pro-100, ready to print CDs. I bought a stack of Verbatim CDs (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0001LS35W/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and, well, the media layer was fine. The printing area was just sufficient. The consistency was poor, the balance between dark gray and black was not as good as I had hoped for the printer. It wasn't the quality I just turned down money to upgrade for. these and tried them out. Oh yes, there is a nice subtle contrast nuance. Smooth descent from gray to black. There is a clear difference between the dirty ocher text and the red background. This is the writing experience I was hoping for. What about the media layer? While it's beautiful. The panes are reliably burned and tested, there is no marriage yet. I can't speak to longevity since I just bought them but I can say my author loves them, my various CD players love them and so far I have nothing but faith in these discs. I've been a fan of Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden for many years, but for disc burning where the quality of the print surface is critical, I think I've found my new approach to CD-R.
