For 1GB connection to my new Xfinity modem to my desktop. For 1GB connection to my new Xfinity modem for my TV/4K in the next room over, not that the TV needs the bandwidth, but the long Cat5E I had was old. Because my new Xfinity modem takes away two Ethernet ports compared to the four on the one it replaced, I had to order a new Netgear 1GB hub for my other things that require Ethernet. These cords will take care of those, too, eventually.Advise: Unroll them carefully and patiently. Very important that owing to the internal structure. These cords are heavy, well-jacketed, shielded with a nice innovation on 'snagless' ends. Unrolled and unstressed, I did a Fluke CAT6 test on them, they passed to a high standard. Highly recommend these things. I gave them 5 Stars for durability because mostly they just lay there, but the basic toughness of these cords is evident. Don't allow them to pinch, don't tie-wrap them tightly enough to crimp the jacket (use velcro or a loose loop of Black tape) and don't allow them to twist up as you unwind them, Cat6 needs to remain round and unstressed, never twisted or pinched. Other than that, these are lovely.
