Complicated assembly

Let's call it somewhere between 2 and 3 stars. I assemble it myself - I would advise you to do it together, otherwise you will have to balance. The screws for adding retractable rails to the bars they hang from were too big. They would just start a thread and go no further. I've tried a hand screwdriver and a cordless screwdriver; they would not move. Luckily I have a few different screws and found four that fit. Directions are - as some people mention - poor. Even if they just provided larger charts, that would be more helpful. FYI, when assembling the slats for the keyboard drawer, most of the outer holes are for the drawer and the inner holes are for the glass. This is not immediately logical since the holes look very different. (Flat vs. Round indent). Recommend that you only partially leave the screws as you work so everything is level and then when everything is assembled go back and tighten everything. That still won't please a perfectionist's eye, but it saves you the trouble of unscrewing things completely if you're having trouble aligning. There are tiny notches on the underside of the keyboard for aligning the screws. The ones on mine were misaligned. Two of the screws went in straight and slightly while the other two were misaligned and the screws went in at a slight angle. The keyboard glides were very oily - be careful. There are scratches/scuffs on the wooden legs - I will use a wooden marker to touch them up. Overall I like the look. It's not as square and even as we'd like. It wasn't easy to assemble by myself and I had to learn a lot. The glass is beautiful and heavy. Some of the styrofoam in the package broke into tiny pieces during shipping, causing a mess in the box and static electricity clinging to the table and everywhere. I'd say get it if you're prepared for some potential challenges and don't expect perfectly flat and level furniture. And maybe two against one.

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Annoying
