Review on 🧀 Rösle 15.9-Inch Stainless Steel Coarse Grater with Wire Handle by Chris Soto

Revainrating 5 out of 5

My new favorite kitchen tool

I've had this grater for a few months now and I really like it. I've always had a problem with box graters losing an inch or two of grate surface because there's no finger space between the bottom of the grater and the work surface. The Rosle's legs raise it off the countertop when not in use over a bowl and allow you to utilize the full surface of the grate. grid surface. It allows you to quickly complete any task that this tool is good for. A lot of grated product is obtained with each pass through the grater. The long strokes possible with this grater also make for much longer pieces than I've gotten with any other grater. The length of grind depends on the size of the item being ground, but this grater doesn't force you to use short strokes that end before the item has made a complete pass. I often get pieces of cheese that are a good three centimeters long. The ability to attach the grater to the rim of the bowl is a nice feature. I find this doesn't work well with cheese as the pressure required to grind the cheese is too high and the bowl tends to slide a lot. I find it easier to stand it on my feet and work at a 45 degree angle. But placing the grater over the bowl is great for shredding other foods that require a little less effort, like carrots or potatoes. At first I was a bit worried that the middle grater might not be big enough for the cheese, but after using it I find this size to be almost perfect. It's big enough that there's a certain substance on the grate, but not so big that the cheese melts for a long time. I use a fine toothed grater for hard cheeses, but this grater is excellent for everything else. I have to admit I didn't want to spend that much on a grater. Now that I've had it for a while, I'm very glad I did. This is a very solid, durable and high quality kitchen tool. I've only had it for two months, but I can't imagine it ever falling apart. It's all stainless steel, so rust shouldn't be a problem with proper care. In terms of maintenance, I've found that I need to be vigilant when cleaning. I had cheese on the back of my teeth. The indentations are deep enough that it can be difficult to get a sponge with enough force to loosen the stuck cheese. A hard brush is well suited for thorough cleaning of the back. I wouldn't recommend it for the front unless you want crushed bristles in your rinse water. Considering the price, this is clearly a tool only for those who do a lot of cleaning in the kitchen. If you are, you won't regret this purchase. I paid full price for my grater and have no financial interest in Rosle or Revain. UPDATE: I've had this grater for almost 2-1/2 years now. My feelings about this are still exactly the same as I wrote above. I probably worked an average of twice a week during that time. I've found some tools in the workshop and kitchen an absolute delight, and this one definitely falls into that category. Every time I use it, I'm glad I decided to buy it. It's still torn like a dream.
