I installed this drill bit on my power drill and tested it on several samples. Hardwood and plywood "In any case, it moved very slowly and heated up without much cutting. An examination of the sawdust produced by the chisel (see photo) showed why. Instead of long rings of wood, this bit produced more fluffy, short-staple "wool". It has scratched the tree, didn't like it. The cut surface of the wood looks polished, which is another indication that the drill bit is scraping rather than cutting. The obvious conclusion is that this drill bit is either improperly finished or improperly sharpened. At least I can not recommend.
