The overflow itself is solid, beautiful and stylish on any aquarium. Also very quiet when set up with a valve on the main inlet. It has a reserve riser for emergencies, which is also handy if the first tube suddenly stops. Overall the product is a great idea and design, especially for a typical or standard tank that you can convert to a reef tank. I set mine to 55 gallons and with the included hole saw it went very smoothly. Make sure the drill is running at high speed and that the weight of the drill can do the work as you drill through the glass. Also make sure to spray it and keep the bit wet while drilling. You can easily build a small temporary water tank using duct tape instead of plumbing putty. I have to say right away that the instructions are useless. It's written like I texted someone to quickly learn how to do something in 5 minutes. As a craftsman, I didn't need any guidance to do this, but it can certainly be more difficult for someone who doesn't do this all the time. Your best bet is to watch it on YouTube if you need to learn a little about it. DO NOT USE THE SUPPLIED PATTERN AS A HOLE MARK. If you apply the stencil directly to the plastic rim of the tank, the water level in the tank will not be high enough. Use a sharpie to mark where the baffle is on the inside once you have the inside spill box on top of the fairing. Only then is the water level high enough. Once you've marked it THEN use the template only as a guide to drilling, not to mark where your hole should be. When it was all over the overflow was fine but mine had a bad seal and I had to get a new one because I had a small leak on start up. Not sure if mine was just defective or if they just came with cheap gaskets but no matter how hard I tightened them with channel locks they wouldn't stop so I had to replace the gasket on the outside. You need a ball valve MANDATORY for your main reception. Otherwise it may be too strong or too loud. I recommend putting a piece of highly porous filter pad on the main air intake bulkhead in the overflow box, it really shuts out the noise and avoids the spa siphon. Overall, this is a good overflow, but not as easy as portrayed. Be very careful how you play your cards when installing as I said above. Additionally, once it's done, it's definitely headache-free and reliable. I would recommend it, hopefully just mine came with a bad seal.
