As others have said, it instantly sparkles EVERYWHERE; I will try to paint over the glossy parts with clear glossy paint to seal them so they don't fall off like crazy. It appears to be quite durable, but it's ceramic and can break, especially when caring for a small child. My almost 5 year old LOVES it though. According to her, "It's very beautiful, shiny and smooth, and I can put my money in it. And it's pink and purple, two of my favorite colors. I like it when he has his eyes closed because he looks like he's sleeping and I like that he has a horn." Update: I had my daughter color in the sparkles with a mod pod. Hat worked great, now the sparkle doesn't crumble anymore!
