OCZ has around 10.12. Made production changes to keep the cost of these drives down. The end result is slower performance, less usable storage space (only 107GB of 111 formatted verses on the originals), and potentially reduced lifespan. If, like me, you do your research before buying an SSD, then you know you probably won't get the same drive that has great reviews on major hardware review sites. I understand that the entire SSD industry will migrate to cheaper materials, but I bought the Vertex 2 for the performance and the materials it was made from. There are many people who are dissatisfied with OCZ because of this. My biggest issue with OCZ is that they haven't made this current drive a new model and are using the great reviews of the original Vertex 2 to sell them. Other than that, I don't get the OCZ performance advertised, but it's still a heck of a lot faster than any HHD I've ever used. It boots and shuts down almost immediately (the longest part of the boot process is the BIOS POST screens). My advice when buying an SSD is to check the user forums on the manufacturer's website. I know some laptop models have problems with these drives. Visiting the forums will give you a better idea of the actual performance/problems that users are experiencing, as well as an idea of how companies are responding to solving these problems.
