Quickly there is an application, the first has died.

FAST, like everything, it came with an adapter, ran cool and didn't use a watt. Windows boot times and app load times were impressively quick. I quickly realized that 60GB isn't really that. a lot of work (mine is bad), but unfortunately the original just died without warning between uploads on the same day at or around the 90-100 day mark. (I have a WD MyBook that I use for backups so I haven't lost any of my "important files" but if I did it would be my stupid mistake right? 90 days and over…

It's great when it works. Undetected in 75% of the cases. Finally dead.

I bought this SSD as my main boot drive for Windows to speed up my computer. The difference in my computer's performance (boot time, application launch time, etc.) was amazing! Problem: The drive was very inconsistently recognized by my ASUS H87M PLUS motherboard. This meant that on each reboot it took 2-5 reboot attempts before the drive was recognized. The rest of the time the SATA port showed up as empty so I didn't have a boot drive and had to turn off the device or press ctrl-alt-del to…

Buyers Be careful with computers and accessories

OCZ has around 10.12. Made production changes to keep the cost of these drives down. The end result is slower performance, less usable storage space (only 107GB of 111 formatted verses on the originals), and potentially reduced lifespan. If, like me, you do your research before buying an SSD, then you know you probably won't get the same drive that has great reviews on major hardware review sites. I understand that the entire SSD industry will migrate to cheaper materials, but I bought the…

WARNING DO NOT BUY VERTEX 2

My SSD has been running for a year and a half. You shouldn't automatically be excited about the first sentence because it means my SSD is dead. There is a known bug in the Sandforce 2 technology used in this drive that causes it to become "bricked". Literally becomes unrecognizable in your BIOS or Windows. This happens when your computer goes to sleep and wakes up. My computer had sleep and hibernate disabled for most of that year and a half until I reverted to default settings when I…

Great HDD, Huge Performance Boost

I did a lot of research before pulling the SSD trigger. At first I thought I would go with Intel as they are highly rated everywhere and some of the best drives out there. That ultimately determined my decision. I hooked it up to a Dell Dimension E521, an AMD dual core processor and Windows 7 and it was up and running in 18 minutes - pretty impressive to say the least! Although I didn't time it, my computer boots in about 30 seconds and is fully functional at that point. The performance boost…
