Great HDD, Huge Performance Boost

I did a lot of research before pulling the SSD trigger. At first I thought I would go with Intel as they are highly rated everywhere and some of the best drives out there. That ultimately determined my decision. I hooked it up to a Dell Dimension E521, an AMD dual core processor and Windows 7 and it was up and running in 18 minutes - pretty impressive to say the least! Although I didn't time it, my computer boots in about 30 seconds and is fully functional at that point. The performance boost is amazing, especially noticeable when installing programs. It will be amazing when traditional hard drives become obsolete and we fully migrate to Solid State Drives or even better technology. I've installed a few of these drives in laptops and the results are equally amazing. own, one of the best in the business. You're buying a quality drive and a lot of speed. Note that even at 60GB it fills up pretty darn fast - 60GB really isn't a lot of storage space these days, and forget it if you plan on storing music, photos, etc. I'm *really* glad I didn't buy a SSD 40GB Intel which I was also thinking of. I have a 2TB NAS for main storage and also 2TB for my work pics/music should be on a 2TB drive. Even with that, and a minimal amount of software installed (Office 2010, iTunes, literally two or three other small programs I use) I'm using 30GB of 55.7 - and remember, all of my iTunes music is in there either on my NAS or on an internal 2TB drive. These drives are still more expensive per GB compared to traditional drives, but it's worth it for the performance boost.
