I thought it was a flop - my PS4 read my Thunderbolt Silicon Power drive as USB 2.0. Don't worry, this adapter may have to work with USB-A (polarity) rules, but you can just flip the USB-C side and you have full USB 3.x, and devices like the PS4 will recognize such. This confused me a bit and I thought that the "direction" of 3.0 support was from A to C for some reason, but that's not the case. You just have to flip the adapter. It's funny, but it works. In summary, it's a great adapter. If you're having trouble with USB C/3.x full throughput, test it one way and then flip it and test again (this is the USB-A "this side up" format limitation).
