Don't think the cruise line won't confiscate it, although it's a good way out.
Bought for use on a cruise ship based on reviews others have used successfully. The carnival is confiscated. The Carnival Freedom ship has a number of additional power outlets in its rooms, including USB, so additional power outlets are not a problem for some ships at this time, and are expected to be the same as for ships converting in the future. Although I used at home - there can't be too many USB in the outlet. :)
