Review on Chaco Banded Zcloud Sandal Solid Men's Shoes: Ideal for Athletic Performance by Peter Mendoza

The longtime owner of Teva rebelled against the Chaco

I've been wearing Teva for over 20 years. In the beginning, Teva was the sandal to beat. Wear it for a VERY long time and get this: lifetime warranty and free repair (luckily I used it once). However, over time, the Teva line has been expanded, but has lost quality. The outsoles came off - had to be glued back on - and they wore out VERY quickly. Then I found Chaco and this latest model with multiple straps (another long strap). The quality and arch support is amazing. I have plantar faciitis and really appreciate it. The single strap system, with an extra wrap over the Classic, wraps tightly but comfortably around my foot and, despite what you may have read, is easily adjustable. The adjustment strap is long but should fit a variety of foot sizes and is easy to tuck in once adjusted (I tuck mine under the adjustment clip). I'm shocked at what a real arch brace looks like. I thought I had good support on my Tevas but I was wrong. These Chacos are the real deal, even better than the old original Tevas. Congratulations Chaco. You can still find deals, but this model is the bomb.

Pros
  • An option for men who prefer strappy sandals.
Cons
  • Sandals may not be flexible enough for people who want more freedom of movement in their shoes.
