UPDATE - Got a replacement to ensure my unit is not defective. The fan is still noisy, about the same noisy, very annoying. I still didn't maintain the temperature, kept the temperature at 68 degrees, but after about 2 hours the room was almost 80 degrees. I called their support and they confirmed that the heater turns on EVERY 5 minutes, it runs for about 30 seconds while trying to sense the temp and if it's over the set temp it turns off. Guess what that means? You have a device that delivers heat into the room EVERY 5 MINUTES and unless your house is in a state of disrepair and has gaps everywhere, it will eventually overheat your room. click. The fan is louder than my 3 year old Honeywell heater. When set to automatic mode, it turns on and turns on every 5 minutes. It does NOT maintain a constant temperature, the room was 78 degrees after setting the preferred temperature to 70 for 2 hours.
