USB doesn't communicate with anything else. The CD player does not play CDs or MP3s. I have it for the workshop so I can listen to the radio and I have to maneuver all sorts of wires and things to get it actually picking up the signal. The bass button does nothing. If I leave and the antenna is out of order, the signal disappears again. That doesn't mean I live somewhere with few radio signals: the radio is always on AM and FM. The thing is just cheap.
