My wife has an older MacBook air and after unplugging it from the charger you could basically watch the percentage drop. After about 30 minutes the computer would need to be charged again. Other than that, the computer was fine and for typing up papers or browsing online, it worked. Insisting she needed a new laptop because the battery died too fast didn't sit right with me. I tried asking if it was slow, or crashed, to justify an upgrade, but no, he only complaint was the battery. I decided to save the $1400 or so for a new laptop and just replace the battery with the extended life option here. Now the laptop lasts a full day on light use. She can do some work, set it down and pick it up the next day and the laptop isn't dead. She's happy to have a functioning MacBook again and I'm happy to have a couple more years of use out of an otherwise adequate laptop.
