Being a geek, I usually tie things on the outside, like car remotes and reusable shopping bags; Strap rings are perfect for this. The card slots are narrow (again, good for stretching, so should be perfect for chasing my arthritis). No loop for a pen. Inside the large compartment there is a small zipped pocket for everyday briefs and three money pockets in the wallet compartment. I've searched extensively for a design like this and am very happy to have found something with quality leather and reliable performance.
