Totally useless for lightboxes

This is a piece of slightly mirrored plastic with a light plastic frame that can be used for easy tracing. "Mirror" measures 8.25 x 5 3/8 inches. It comes with a 5-piece plastic frame that snaps together and supports both a mirror and a light object like a cellphone at a decent angle for tracking. There is also a guide in the package that lists QR codes to download some photo editing software and activate the software (free for buyers of this product only). And a bag with several pieces of thin paper suitable for the device (8.25" x 5.5"). I was intrigued by the concept of this device but quite disappointed by its limitations. Yes, almost any reasonably light object can be placed in a plastic frame. A glossy photo, for example, works just as well as a cell phone. If you get your lighting right while looking down through a mirror, you should be able to trace your image onto the paper below. Remember that the size of the mirror is 8.25 x 5.5 inches. So if you want to work on a larger image, you need to move the bottom paper and the top image. If you try to snap a picture from your cellphone, you'll find that it projects an image of just a few inches onto the paper underneath. So, to create a larger image, you need to pan. The software, whose name is not even mentioned in the instructions, is called indraw.fun. It's a very simple image editor that mysteriously requires permission to make and receive calls on your phone. However, its primary use is to create a mirror image of what's on your screen, so it's headed in the right direction when tracking your image. I never managed to get the QR code to activate the software to work. never mind I'm uninstalling the software because I don't need it - almost any image editor will flip your images for you if you're really determined to use this device. Overall, this device sounds a lot better than it is.
