Review on Roaming Mountain Gloves Improve Control by Noel Schmits

Probably the thinnest and lightest gloves I've ever used for mountain biking. For a hot summer day when you want to stay cool this would be great. The entire back of the gloves is made of finely knitted mesh material, which breathes very well and keeps your hands cool. The palm material holds up really well and I didn't have any slipping off the handlebars. Another nice feature of these thin gloves is that they fit snugly without knocking off the extra material; almost like a latex surgical glove. It is not as difficult to put on, although not as easy as with Velcro gloves. Unfortunately, the same qualities of these gloves that make them lightweight and breathable also make them incredibly short-lived. I ride a lot on tight, narrow trails with overgrown bush encroaching on the trails. After several rides I have already dug a hole in the mesh lining of these gloves from a branch. My other gloves are 7iDP and they have a much thicker mesh base that withstood two years of abuse before needing replacement. Another thing I don't like about these gloves is that the fingers are a bit short for me. I have quite long and narrow hands so it's not just the gloves but other brands as well. I ordered a medium size and it fits my palm and thumb perfectly, but I could use another 1/4 inch finger length to make it more comfortable. Finally, the touchscreen protrusions on the fingertips just don't seem to work. OK. I use a Samsung phone and smartwatch, both of which have the touch sensitivity setting turned on to improve responsiveness when wearing gloves. My other gloves have no finger protrusions and are great for controlling my devices. I almost had to take these gloves off to open them and record my trips with Strava on my Samsung Active watch. If you're looking for a glove that's durable or offers some sort of fall protection, look elsewhere.
