Great concept, difficult to install Failed

Purchased to replace an existing oil pan cover with a radon reducing cover. The reviews on it were very good, so I was very optimistic. The product is very durable, goes very well with the existing sump. My concrete floor was level and the base of the product fitted well. The basis for this is available as a radon reduction solution. where it failed is in the fragile and complex connection hardware for attaching (and allowing re-opening and re-closing) the lids to the base. The problems are related to the attachment of the two halves of the cover to the base. It is very difficult to get the gasket in the right position for the bolts to go through (pointed bolts that slide/go through the rubber gasket are recommended) and easily insert into the bottom nut. Also, the nut at the bottom of the covers will break off (and fall into the sump) if too much pressure is applied (it's recommended to push the nuts into the base to keep them from falling out) and fall into the sump. a hole filled with cold water. Note that the manufacturer provides an extra four nuts because they know this is a problem. If unfortunately you have 10 screws out of 12 and have to decide whether to open the lid again to find and reinstall the two that fell off. Go fishing in the swamp's dark pit in search of black plastic nuts. I'm not sure if the people who designed this cover actually installed it. Please note that installing the two halves of the cover took a long time. Two nuts fell into the cesspool after 45 minutes of the rest being installed. Unfortunately I was so frustrated at this point that I simply plugged two holes and put sealant all over the lid. I hope the two nuts I dropped don't get stuck in my swamp and damage it. This negates the benefit of an oil pan cover, which you can periodically remove to inspect your existing oil pan. Completely missed the task. I now have a lid sealed with caulk (because I don't have all the bolts) and I know that reverse nuts run a high risk of shifting and falling into the sump every time I have to remove them. Seems like I do a lot of chasing every time I need access. Promising potential, error in execution. If you want to learn new swear words, buy this product. Better yet, product engineers and support staff go on site and watch a couple of installers install them. I am very easygoing and can handle most household duties. Fishing for parts from a wet cesspool is an experience they will remember and will most likely inspire them to find a different solution. With regret!
