The product must be easy to use

I bought 2 of these units as a Christmas present. I opened one up to compare to an old device I've been using for 6 months now. This new device costs almost twice as much and appears to have the same features as the old one; However, a battery tester was included. I am a design engineer with over 40 years of experience. I designed many things including the 35 pack dispenser that was used on all APOLLO missions. Here are my comments: 1. The contact points on the positive and negative terminals of the tester's battery should go through the body of the tester case if using the current design. A small indentation in the middle is not enough to center the battery on the frame.2. In order to make it easier to insert the battery into the tester, the bottom should be concave to automatically place the battery in the correct position. The radius of the concave surface must be chosen to center the AA, A and D batteries. When this is done the contact points must be raised = adjusted to allow direct contact with both the positive and negative to ensure the surfaces of the battery poles.3. The designer should review the operation after prototyping to determine if further changes are required. Accordingly, Charles A. Has.
