Review on Evolv Geshido Lace Climbing Shoes by David Thomley

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Close enough to five stars.

Since fit is most important, I'll start with this: These pieces are perfect for my wide forefoot/narrow heel (with bursitis to make it more interesting). My toes are slightly arched in my street shoe size on the Evolv Oracle, but mostly flat in this size (as you would expect from an all-rounder). So these things are SUPER handy for long technical strides. on small edges and pockets. The pointed fingertips are very stiff and offer a lot of grip. There's just enough roll-off and sharpness to make them feel very accurate. The rubber works well enough. The lacing system is fantastic. Consider them La Sportiva Katana or Miura Lace for those with wider feet. I would wear something else if I knew I had to do a lot of one thing (cool bouldering with lots of holds, thin or wide cracks, friction plates) but they still get the job done. the language of these things is loosely attached. Don't pull it hard or you risk tearing it off.

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Damaged
