UPDATE VERY IMPORTANT - yes. All of the points below are true - I was unable to contact customer service and was very disappointed. HOWEVER turns out I didn't pull the mic out as far as I should because these headphones are expensive and I didn't want to break them. Turns out I had to pull the mic out hard. who knew. Now they are great and I use them every day for work and love them. PLEASE NOTE - no customer support. I just bought a wired ASTRO Gaming A40 TR + MixAmp Pro TR headset for my birthday and spent all day yesterday trying to get the mic to work. Follow the setup video in a letter specific to PC. - Make sure the microphone is plugged in properly (even with the annoying drop out of trying to install it) - Set Astro MixAmp Pro Game as default headphones - Set Astro MixAmp Pro as default headphones Communication Device - Set Astro MixAmp Pro as the default recording device - Make sure the sound is off (white light on MixAmp Pro). - Make sure the firmware in the Astro command center is up to date (version 34352). There is no joy. The microphone test did not work. - Tried to manually adjust the output and input in the sound settings, but without success. - I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers but to no avail. - Tried all 4 USB 3.0 ports. Bad luck. - Tried all 8 USB 2.0 ports. Bad luck. I even tried switching it to MixAmp Pro on PS4, there's still sound in the headphones but the mic still doesn't work. - Tries to erase the device and reboot. However, the microphone does not work. I feel like I've tried everything so I contact customer service and can't find any phone support. So I write the ticket and still waiting for an answer. As I needed this for my hectic workday of client meetings, I am extremely annoyed and frustrated that this expensive headphone advertised as "plug and play" does not work and the company doesn't seem to care. At the moment I do not recommend this product to anyone. I had to resort to Beats headphones and a Bluetooth receiver to get through the day. Happy to update this review with some input and help from the support team if they ever reply. waste of money and time.
