This is a copy of the original Samsung remote control AA59-00506A. The only differences I can see are that the sleep button has been replaced by a favourites/favorites button and the overall construction appears to be made of lighter plastic, making the device noticeably lighter in the hand without being bulky. We put in two AA batteries and it synced right away without the flat screen. For the price it's a steal and I have no complaints. PRO TIP: If you want to keep the original housing made of more impact-resistant plastic and are a little practiced with a screwdriver, you can easily swap out the internal parts and be happy.
