I found a new remote - it broke after 3 weeks. I'm in fourth place. It sucks because that light is way brighter than what people say. AS Lumens FYI measure light intensity, not watts. I have no idea why Watt was ever put on a lightbulb to confuse people. Take a physics class in high school or elementary school. That's why they have to tag new lightbulbs with silly things that tell you that a 40-watt incandescent bulb is as bright as a 2-watt LED (or something like that). Watt is a measure of the rate at which energy is consumed. A 100 watt light bulb uses 100 watts of energy every second. LEDs use less power but are no less bright. If we just put the lumens on the old incandescent bulbs, nobody would be embarrassed. Yes, and K is a measure of light temperature from cold to warm, has nothing to do with intensity. However, this light that I have received is much brighter than anyone here is claiming. you sent me the wrong one I can't find the papers and at the brightest I can't look at them and scare the fish. About halfway through, algae will grow on everything in the tank. So yes, plants grow. I would really like to know why some people claim it's only 2000 lumens. I see some people calculating things on a weird scale but then again watts should never be used, you can't compare watts when working with fluorescent, incandescent and LED. After 2-3 months the remote control stopped working. I tried to contact the company but they never replied. At least it still went on and off. Now, 18 months later, I don't have a remote, and since the idiot who designed it made it without a REAL switch, I have a $90 piece of junk. I don't have the packaging anymore, so I can't write it again. How can I contact you. Also, I estimate that I need to buy a new remote every two months as that's the lifespan according to other reviews. It's good that you put a switch on the newer models. So I bought an Aqueon starter tank that comes with a cheap 12 LED light. I wanted some plants to go with my fish. I bought an AQUEON plastic hood with LED tubes for $52 plus another $20 for an extra tube. It was very dim - even worse than 12 bulbs and he had 24. After reading many aquarium sites I found two bulbs that looked good but weren't too expensive. I chose Current.Pros. It's smooth and unobtrusive. I chose a 24-36" lamp so I had 48 LEDs. Setup is very easy. I bought a glass cover for my aquarium that fits snugly over it - added protection from water damage. Safer for fish too. Colors! So beautiful. It's like watching a light show. Honestly. It has a lot of cool effects. Some night settings. Some clouds - the lights change and it seems like the clouds are passing by. Lightning is annoying for fish , do you want to live under a strobe light?sunrise, partially sunny etc.It can be controlled from the remote, there is a sensor. You can also adjust individual colors.Cons:Can only be turned on with the remote control. There is no timer. You can plug one into an outlet, it will turn on with your latest preset. No indication what the pictures on the remote mean. It's full spectrum but there aren't any Setting that shows all RGBs I can find. Clouds are constantly changing color, I can do white-blue, white-pink, white-red, white-green. I can't see RGB right away yet. However, I make it quite bright and add some color - definitely more light than before and my plants are already growing well. That's a good value, I don't want to mold my fish and the plants seem happy too.
