Review on πŸ“· Silver Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ5S 5MP Digital Camera with 12x Optical Zoom and Image Stabilization for Enhanced Results by Jyothish Pillai

Well done Panasonic

So far I'm very happy with the DMC-FZ5. With Lumix I take very clear shots indoors and outdoors. The LCD is very easy to read (maybe not so easy in bright sunlight) and I was able to navigate through most of the menu items without a guide. Image stabilization works wonders on this high-zoom camera. I shot the 12x zoom outdoors in 40 km/h winds and the result was excellent. I was shaking from the wind, but thanks to stabilization, the picture was as clear as possible. Ann, I say the DMC-F5Z may be big by your standards, but I have to say this. The Lumix is a very compact camera, even compared to my Canon G2, which is by no means a monster. To Jimmy, I'm certainly not a Panasonic employee, but I can't give this camera a bad review. If 75% of your Lumix shots are blurry, then you either have a broken camera or a bad operator! Can this camera take blurry pictures? Yes, but it's pretty tricky, especially with image stabilization on. For high-zoom mid-range cameras, the Lumix DMC-FZ5 should be at or near the top of its class, at least for now. Those who can wait can compare this camera with the Canon 2S IS, which will be released in June.
